Hi Kathy,

You caught me off guard with: 'But when did the norm become synonymous with effective?' and I actually snorted some coffee up my nose. But I won't hold it against you. This is a great sentiment. Years ago (back when doctors actually did physicals) my doctor told me that my health was normal. To which I immediately responded, Yes doc, but am I healthy?

Although I've amassed a considerable amount of speaking experience over the years, I always approach PowerPoint with some trepidation, because the 'normal' for PowerPoint is often so painfully bad that one begins to wonder if the phrase 'death by PowerPoint' is simply an expression, or if there might actually be some significant health risks for an audience sitting through the old normal.

When it comes to the new normal, sign me up.

Nice post.
