Thanks for stopping by and posting comments.

Heather, that's a great point about 'pretending' that you're saying the words for the first time.

It really comes down to being present, doesn't it? When we are fully engaged and don't let our minds click into auto pilot, it is much harder to sound robotic and bored.

A very appropriate post, Kathy. I agree with all of your points, especially the first one. Even if the material is not fresh to you, it is to your audience. Reminding ourselves of that and reminding ourselves that any presentation is about the audience is a key aspect of "keeping it fresh".

Excellent advice. Thank you for this. Another technique I have used, both in singing and in speaking, is similar to your first point. I speak as if I, myself, am hearing the words for the first time. That way, I'm as interested to hear what I'm going to say next as the audience is.
